Social Media estabishes closed ‘communities’ of like-minded users, where they are absorbed within the environment(s) that have been either purpose built or organically grown. Cracking these environments can be very effective in promoting your brand or products amongst a potential or established customer.
But is it for every business? At a minimum social media can be leveraged by customer service to recieve enquires from users and post responses that can be seen by others.
Other business that reside in an emotive industry ‘ie Babys’ can successfully build an environment to discuss and promote baby related products.
Large organisations can leverage professional networks to discuss and promote industry specific topics / events and jobs.
Another aspect to Social Media is advertising. In our experience advertising within these environments can be successful for Brand Awareness. But for campaigns based on repsonse, promoting within the social media environment works better (ie. Facebook advert to promote your facebook page – rather website).
